Balance

02.03.2014The balance of masculine and feminine energies takes many forms and recently I’ve been studying it through dance – Tango! in particular.

Yesterday’s special event with Ilene Marder at the Uptown Gallery in Kingston, NY, was a brilliant exchange between new and experienced attendees. I remember an engaging conversation with tango dancer and teacher Sarah Jacob that captured the essence of the dance: connection. The connection between dancers, the music, and the other partners around them, demands a practice of presence that is holistic, and rarefied in the daily experience of what Sarah calls “digital tapeworms.”

Leading and following, giving and receiving, it’s a dance of yin and yang.

Silent Hour

01.30.2014I stopped at Rhea Wolf’s website to pluck a treasure for this special day.

Sabian Symbol: During a silent hour, a human receives a new inspiration which may change their life.

Make time for a moment of stillness today. Sitting, laying down, standing … try to quiet yourself part by part. With long, deep breaths, let the heart be calm.

Open. Receive.

Meaning in Time

01.25.2014The second new moon this month brings us the year of the yang wood horse – January 31st (for EST and the 30th for PST.)

Find your wild, free-spirited self! Join the high energy and adventure! Think and act fast! Or hold on tight.

A year is just one way to mark the time. Hours are another measure and can be a useful guide to our inner cycles. As the day changes so do you.

remember your scarf.

This is the single most important thing in protecting yourself from an undesirable turn towards flu, cold, and transient sniffles.
